Sparse Population Program

The goal of the program is to ensure good living conditions for families living in sparsely populated rural areas and thereby contribute to maintaining the population in these areas.

Coverage

The support constitutes up to 67% of eligible project costs; the applicant and co-applicant's own and co-financing must together make up at least 33% of eligible project costs.

Grant application conditions

Applicant requirements
  • The applicant's permanent residence is a household located in a sparsely populated area from January 1 of the application year until the signing of the support agreement, and the project for which support is sought is related to this household.
  • According to the population register, the applicant's residence has been continuously the same household from January 1 of the application year until the signing of the support agreement.
  • The applicant has no tax debt to the state or local authorities, except in cases where it has been deferred.
Co-applicant requirements
  • The co-applicant must meet the same requirements as the applicant and confirm the application form with their signature.
Project duration
  • The project must be completed by October 31 of the year following the application round at the latest.
