Advanced manufacturing for key products (IA) (Made in Europe partnership)

This grant supports advanced manufacturing technologies and machinery aimed at producing key and high-performance products in Europe. The objectives are to increase circular use of secondary raw materials, incorporate innovative advanced materials for better product performance, and enhance resource efficiency in materials and energy. The action is focused on manufacturing components critical to Europe’s competitiveness and technological leadership, especially where dependence on imported materials exists. Solutions may include innovative additive or hybrid manufacturing, photonics, advanced joining, composite manufacturing, surface treatment, lightweight materials, and in-line testing. Proposals must contribute to Europe's industry resilience by increasing circularity, productivity, and competitiveness, and are required to include a business case and exploitation strategy. Battery production is out of scope. International collaboration, especially with Japan or Taiwan, is encouraged.

Grant application conditions

Eligible countries	EU Member States and associated countries; see Annex B of the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes for a full list. Some non-EU/non-Associated Countries may provide funding for their participants.
Admissibility Conditions	Proposal must include a business case and exploitation strategy. Page limit in part B of the application is extended by 3 pages. Full admissibility conditions are in Annex A and Annex E of the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes.
Legal and financial capacity	Requirements for legal and financial capacity and exclusion criteria are described in Annex C of the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes.
Manufacturing focus	Proposals must center on advanced manufacturing technologies and machinery for key and high-performance products. The development of advanced materials may be included but not as the primary focus.
Automotive industry balance	To ensure balanced coverage, at least one proposal focusing on the automotive industry will be selected, provided it meets all thresholds.
Ownership of results	Up to four years after action end, the granting authority may object to transfer or exclusive licensing of results, per Annex G of the General Annexes and the Model Grant Agreement.
