| Incineration exclusion | Incineration is not in scope of funded activities. |

| Multi-actor approach | Proposals must ensure collaboration with local forest owners, cooperatives, sectorial associations or managers. |

| Supply chain optimization | Models must incorporate sourcing, storage, and/or transport as relevant for selected woody residues. |
|---|
| Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) | A task to apply the SSbD framework developed by the European Commission must be included for assessment of chemicals/materials and derived products. |

| Complementarity with other projects | Ensure complementarities with existing or past R&I projects addressing similar challenges, including Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe and BBI JU/CBE JU projects. |
