Direct costs such as personnel, equipment, materials, travel, publications, access to research facilities, and other costs necessary for the proposed work.

Eligible additional expenses for relocation or other major costs, as justified in the proposal.

Publishing costs for open access peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Costs related to compliance with data management and open science requirements.

The sole criterion is excellence.

Panels evaluate both the ground-breaking nature and ambition of the research project and the intellectual capacity and creativity of the Principal Investigator.

Specific evaluation focuses on: scientific quality, innovative potential, and feasibility of the project; as well as the capability and track record of the Principal Investigator.

Evaluation takes place in two steps, with interviews at Step 2; outcomes may be: A invited, A not invited, B, or C at Step 1 and A or B at Step 2.

Applicants who are subject to the administrative sanction of exclusion or are in situations set out by the EU Financial Regulation are ineligible to participate or receive grants.

No explicit business sector exclusions; host can be any legal entity including universities, research organisations or undertakings in any field, provided other eligibility criteria are met.

During the grant preparation stage, beneficiaries will prepare a Grant Agreement that sets out the framework, reporting requirements, and payment terms.

Beneficiaries must ensure immediate open access to all peer-reviewed scientific publications resulting from funded research.

A data management plan must be established within the first six months of project implementation, in line with FAIR principles for research data.

Regular deliverables, reporting, and compliance with the Model Grant Agreement are required.

Submit proposals electronically through the Funding & Tenders Portal using the dedicated submission tool.

The proposal must include: Part A (Administrative Form including Ethics and Budget), Parts B1 and B2 (Scientific Proposal), Host Institution Support Letter, Curriculum Vitae and Track Record, Resources and Time Commitment, Ethics Issues Table, PhD record, and supporting documents.

Proposals must be complete, accessible, readable, and submitted before the call deadline.

Completed proposal (Part A and B forms with all required documents).

Binding support letter from the Host Institution.

PhD or equivalent doctoral degree certificate.

Curriculum Vitae (max 4 pages) and Track Record.

Resources and time commitment description.

Budget and justification of resources.

Ethics Issues Table and relevant documents supporting eligibility.
