Support for improving the energy efficiency of coastal and inland fishing vessels for the period 2021–2027

The aim of the support is to reduce the fuel consumption of fishing vessels used in professional coastal and inland fishing, increase energy efficiency, and reduce CO₂ emissions by supporting the replacement of engines in fishing vessels under 12 meters.

Coverage

The maximum rate of support is 40% of the eligible costs of the supported activity.

Grant application conditions

Applicant requirements
  • The applicant is a natural person or company engaged in professional fishing who owns a fishing vessel under 12 meters.
  • The fishing vessel is listed in fleet segment 4S2 or 4S4.
  • The fishing vessel does not use fishing gear defined in the sustainable use management measures of Mediterranean fish stocks.
  • A fishing vessel listed in fleet segment 4S2 has been registered in the professional fishing register for at least five years before the application is submitted.
Project requirements
  • Support is provided once per fishing vessel during the program period.
  • The engine power and total capacity of the fishing vessel must not increase after engine replacement.
