Applicant Type
  • State institutions, local governments, non-profit organizations, and private companies
Geographic Restriction
  • Estonian regions identified as flood risk areas, including Pärnu, Sindi, Võiste, Häädemeeste, Virtsu, Kuressaare and Nasva, Kärdla, Haapsalu, Tallinn (Haabersti, Põhja-Tallinn, Kesklinn, and Pirita), Kiisa and Maidla, Maardu, Raasiku, Paide, Tartu, Aardlapalu, and Võru
Supported Activities
  • Construction or removal of protective dikes or embankments.
  • Reconstruction of existing protective structures.
  • Reconstruction of drainage ditches in risk areas.
  • Restoration of water regimes in drained areas.
  • Rehabilitation of water bodies (e.g., removal of sediments, vegetation, and flow obstacles).
  • Preservation and restoration of natural floodplains.
  • Restoration of river meanders.
  • Other construction works necessary for the protection of water supply, sewage, and electrical nodes.
Non-Eligible Activities
  • Construction of infiltration ditches, ponds, wells, fields, buffer zones, and artificial wetlands for water retention and infiltration.
  • Separation of combined sewer systems into separate systems.
  • Construction of separate sewer systems.
  • Elimination or rehabilitation of combined sewer systems.
  • Restoration of roads and surface coverings not related to the aforementioned works.
