HORIZON-JU-EDCTP3-2026-Scientific Leadership Woman EU Prize

The EDCTP Prizes 2026-2027 are recognition prizes funded under Horizon Europe. The Scientific Leadership Prize aims to recognise growing mid-career women scientists who are permanent residents of an EU Member State or a country associated with the Horizon Europe programme. Prizes are financial contributions given as rewards for past achievements and outstanding work in research and innovation within the remit of the Global Health EDCTP3 programme. Applications must provide evidence of the applicant's involvement in research activities, proof of eligibility, and a written presentation of achievements, and will be evaluated by an independent panel of experts.

Grant application conditions

Applicant type	Natural person identifying as female.
Age restriction	Applicant must be below 50 years old on the day of the launch of the contest.
Residence	Applicant must be established (residing) in the EU or a country associated to Horizon Europe.
Field of activity	Applicant must have significant involvement in research and innovation activities within the remit of the Global Health EDCTP3 programme.
Single submission	Each candidate may submit only one application. If several applications are submitted by the same candidate, only the last one will be considered.
Prior award exclusion	Applicants who have already received an EDCTP prize may not receive a second prize for the same activities or in the same prize category (EDCTP1, 2 and 3 included).
Ineligible entities	Current employees of Global Health EDCTP3, EU institutions, agencies or bodies, and the EDCTP Association. Persons serving on advisory or governing bodies of Global Health EDCTP3 or EDCTP Association (including working groups). Entities or persons subject to EU restrictive measures under Article 29 TEU or Article 215 TFEU. Applicants in bankruptcy, winding up, under court administration, in breach of social security or tax obligations, guilty of grave professional misconduct or criminal activities specified in the call.
Legal entity validation	All applicants must register in the Participant Register and be validated by the Central Validation Service.
Activities restriction	Activities must comply with the highest ethical standards and applicable EU/international/national law. No prize will be awarded for activities prohibited in all EU Member States. Activities must only focus on civil applications. Prohibited activities include: human cloning for reproductive purposes, heritable genetic modification except for certain cancer research, creation of embryos purely for research/stem cell procurement.
Supporting documents	Complete electronic application before the contest deadline. Application must include: Application Form Part A (administrative information), Part B (technical description), and mandatory annexes (letter(s) of support from a reputable scientist and CVs).
