Improving equitable health outcomes and added value for and with cancer patients through health-economics research, health systems research and outcomes research

This grant seeks to enhance equitable health outcomes and deliver added value for people at risk of cancer and cancer patients by supporting research in health economics, health systems, epidemiology, and outcomes. Projects should establish or refine research methods for performing cost-effectiveness and epidemiological analyses, improve access to effective cancer control programmes, and support the development of value-based, patient-centred healthcare. Proposals must address socio-economic and socio-demographic inequalities, engage patients and caregivers, and consider regional diversity in healthcare delivery across Europe.

Grant application conditions

Admissibility conditions	Proposals must follow page limits and layout as described in the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes and in the Application Form in the Submission System.
Eligible countries	EU Member States and Associated Countries. A number of non-EU/non-Associated Countries may participate if they have made provisions for Horizon Europe funding.
Other eligibility conditions	As described in Annex B of the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes.
Applicant legal and financial capacity	Applicants must have the financial and operational capacity as described in Annex C of the General Annexes.
Evaluation and award criteria	Award criteria, scoring and thresholds: 4 (Excellence), 4 (Impact), and 4 (Implementation); cumulative threshold: 12. Criteria described in Annex D and F of the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes.
Legal and financial set-up	Eligible costs are lump sum. The granting authority may object to a transfer of ownership or exclusive licensing of results up to 4 years after the end of the action, as outlined in Annex 5.
Participation requirements	Proposals must use the standard Horizon Europe application form for Research and Innovation Actions (RIA). Consortium structure requirements as per Horizon Europe rules.
Coordination with the EU Cancer Mission	Successful proposals are expected to join the 'Understanding' project cluster of the EU Cancer Mission and budget for networking, meetings, and joint activities.
