Monitoring of secondary raw materials (CSA)

This grant aims to enhance the knowledge base regarding secondary raw materials in the EU and third countries, accelerating the development of projects that lead to their commercial exploitation. It supports the collection and harmonisation of data on secondary raw materials, with a focus on critical materials such as waste batteries, WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment), mining waste, slags and ashes, and construction and demolition waste. Results are expected to strengthen EU autonomy, support the green and digital transition, improve strategic planning and foresight capacity, and enable better resource classification and market analysis.

Grant application conditions

Admissibility Conditions	Proposal page limit and layout as described in Annex A and E of the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes, and in Part B of the Application Form in the Submission System.
Eligible Countries	Legal entities established in EU Member States, associated countries, OECD countries, African Union Members, MERCOSUR, CARIFORUM, Andean Community, and countries with EU strategic partnerships or raw materials trade agreements. Entities not established in one of the above countries are not eligible. Entities in eligible countries directly or indirectly controlled by non-eligible countries/entities are not eligible.
Legal and Financial Capacity	Applicants must meet financial and operational capacity requirements as described in Annex C of the Work Programme General Annexes.
Grant Specifics	Eligible costs take the form of a lump sum as defined in the Horizon Europe framework and relevant documentation.
Ownership and Licensing of Results	The granting authority may, up to 4 years after project end, object to transfer or exclusive licensing of results that would undermine Union strategic interests.
