Natura 2000 support for promoting biodiversity in private forests 2025

The support compensates private forest owners for income lost due to Natura 2000 network and other nature conservation restrictions.

Coverage

Support is paid based on a fixed hectare-based unit rate. If the total amount of support exceeds the budget, the rate will be proportionally reduced.

Applicant type
  • Private forest owner (natural person)
Geographical restriction
  • The eligible area must be located in a Natura 2000 area or outside Natura 2000 in a strictly protected zone, restricted zone, or conservation area
Minimum area
  • Support can be applied for if the eligible forest area is at least 0.3 ha
Single application
  • Eligible areas for both measures can be submitted in a single application; two separate applications are not allowed
Annual application
  • Support must be applied for annually
