New technologies and innovation: digitalisation of road transport - works

The objective of this call is to modernise transport infrastructure and enhance the digitalisation of road transport on the TEN-T network. The funding supports works for deploying new technologies and innovation through test-beds and infrastructure for autonomous vehicles, specifically focusing on commercial deployment of mature technology (excluding Research & Innovation activities). Projects must establish control centers for remote supervision of highly automated vehicles or deploy digital infrastructure for positioning and communication, including data transmission and event recording. Modifications to road infrastructure may also be supported if needed for the deployment of autonomous vehicles. Support for actual building construction, vehicle funding, vehicle equipment, and alternative fuels infrastructure is excluded. Projects must align with EU harmonized digital infrastructure and may complement Horizon Europe initiatives.

Alignment with TEN-T network	Projects can be located on the core, extended core and/or comprehensive network as well as in urban nodes of the TEN-T network. Projects outside the TEN-T network must demonstrate their positive effects for TEN-T.
Support exclusions	Support is not provided to the construction of buildings (such as TMC building). Support is not provided for the funding of vehicles, vehicles equipment, and alternative fuels infrastructure.
EU harmonized digital infrastructure	Applicants must explain if and how their project uses EU harmonized (e.g. C-ROADS) and/or sovereign digital infrastructure.
Work programme compliance	The funded infrastructure should align with Directive 2010/40/EU as amended by EU 2023/2661 for the deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems.
