This grant aims to strengthen the competitiveness, responsiveness, and ability of the European Defence Technological and Industrial Base (EDTIB) by reinforcing EU industrial production capacities for key platforms and end-products across land, air, naval, and underwater domains. Supported activities target production enhancement, increased resilience and geographical distribution of supply, improved security of supply, measurable lead-time reductions, the establishment or availability of reserved capacity, and workforce training. Projects are expected to set, baseline, and track KPIs including throughput, time-to-rate, lead-time reduction, yield/quality improvements, qualified output, reserved capacity, staff trained, and indicators evidencing risk mitigation. Proposals must include a risk-management approach addressing safety, supply-chain and obsolescence, life-cycle, maintainability, and industrialisation. There is an opportunity for applicants to include dedicated work packages for enhancing physical and cyber protection aligned with relevant EU standards and directives.
