Regional Cable Hubs

The Regional Cable Hubs grant supports the progressive establishment, enhancement, and operational capability of regional hubs to increase the detection, security, and resilience of undersea cables in the European Union. The Hubs act as central points for pooling data, enabling the dissemination of threat information, incident detection, and rapid information exchange among participating authorities, including public and private sector entities. The grant covers preparatory activities, acquisition of infrastructure, tools, and services required for the hubs' operation, and the enhancement of situational awareness and defense capabilities for the protection of strategic undersea cables. Regional Cable Hubs are cross-border cooperative structures involving public authorities from at least two Member States (ministries, agencies, other entities responsible for cable/security/maritime/infrastructure protection), with the potential inclusion of private stakeholders. They are vital for securing critical connectivity and energy infrastructure.

Grant application conditions

Admissibility conditions	Proposal page limit and layout as described in section 5 of the call document and Part B of the Application Form available in the Submission System.
Eligible countries	Applicants must be from EU Member States or as otherwise specified in section 6 of the call document.
Consortium requirements	Consortium must include authorities from at least two EU Member States concerned by the relevant sea basin.
Eligible applicant types	Competent public authorities (ministries, agencies, or other public entities) responsible for cable security, maritime security, resilience, or the protection of critical infrastructure. Other public or private partners may participate.

Financial and operational capacity	Applicants must demonstrate financial and operational capacity, including absence of exclusion criteria as described in section 7 of the call document.
