Standards for Quantum Technologies

This grant aims to support and accelerate the development and adoption of European and international standards for quantum technologies. It seeks to enhance the interoperability, quality/reliability assurance, and trust in quantum systems, strengthening Europe's leadership in the global quantum standardisation landscape. The action will deliver concrete, EU-relevant pre-normative standards and technical specifications in quantum computing, communication, and sensing, ensure substantial European stakeholder contributions to international standardisation bodies, promote cross-sectoral interoperability, and produce practical tools such as user guidelines and training modules for quantum standardisation.

Grant application conditions

Applicant Type	Legal entities (including companies, NGOs, and government organizations) established in EU Member States, Norway, Iceland, and countries associated to Horizon Europe. European Standardisation Organisations are encouraged to lead or be key partners.
Consortium Requirement	A consortium is expected, with a single proposal funded. Includes broad representation of relevant stakeholders.
Geographic Restriction	Participation is limited to legal entities established in EU Member States, Norway, Iceland, and countries associated to Horizon Europe. Entities directly or indirectly controlled by non-eligible countries may only participate with guarantees approved by the eligible country, ensuring no negative impact on the Union's strategic interests, assets, autonomy, or security.
Project Duration	Expected project duration is 36 months.
Financial and Operational Capacity	Applicants must demonstrate financial and operational capacity as described in the Work Programme General Annexes.
