This action aims to consolidate Europe’s position in superconducting quantum computing by establishing a full-stack superconducting quantum computer with a scalable, user-adjustable architecture. The project targets 1,000 physical qubits and QPU architecture based on chiplet technology, with system features such as long coherence time, high gate fidelities, fast read-out and gate speeds, demonstration of quantum advantage on industrial use cases, cloud-accessible integration with high-performance computing, advanced fault-tolerant protocols, and a comprehensive software stack for calibration, control, and benchmarking. It also strengthens supply chains, develops standards and EU-wide certification schemes, and ensures open access for co-design and evaluation of algorithms.
