Support for the Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform to address cross-sectoral challenges and non-power applications of ionising radiation

This grant supports structuring the activities of the Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNETP) and consolidating networks in technology areas under the Euratom programme. It focuses on cross-cutting nuclear energy applications (such as heat and electricity production, energy supply in space, maritime propulsion) and non-energy applications (including medical uses of ionising radiation and their optimization). The action aims to integrate energy roadmaps, foster collaboration across European Technology and Innovation Platforms, and maximize societal benefits of nuclear and radiation technologies. Emphasis is placed on integrating nuclear research into sustainable low-carbon and smart energy systems, supporting space applications, improving radiation protection, and communicating research efforts to a broad range of stakeholders. Activities funded include studies, workshops, data collection and analysis, development of technology roadmaps, and facilitating cross-sector and cross-project cooperation. The indicative project duration is three years.
