Support the roll-out of EU Mobile Driving Licences

This grant supports issuers and verifiers of driving licences in the roll-out of EU mobile driving licences across Member States. The action aims to facilitate effective implementation of the European Digital Identity Regulation and the harmonized provision of the EU Digital Identity Wallet by the end of 2026. The priority over 2025-2027 is to help complete the transition from existing infrastructure to the new European Digital Identity Framework, enabling 100% of European citizens to access digital identification and supporting secure, cross-border digital transactions. Funded activities contribute to key EU digital services infrastructure (such as digital identity, trust services, eDelivery, and eSignature) and promote adoption and interoperability for citizens, public institutions, and businesses.

Grant application conditions

Eligible expenses

Costs necessary for the technical, administrative, and organizational activities to implement EU mobile driving licence solutions in line with EU Digital Identity Wallet technical specifications.

Development, integration, deployment, and testing of systems for mobile driving licences.

Costs for interoperability, system certification, training, dissemination, and facilitation of adoption.

Other expenses as described in the call document eligible costs section.
