The Environmental Investment Centre (KIK) has opened a call for applications to support companies investing in reducing greenhouse gas emissions per unit of product. The goal of the support is to encourage the adoption of innovative technologies and increase the added value per employee.
Eligible applicants are companies registered in the Estonian commercial register, operating in the fields of manufacturing (EMTAK section C), water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation (section E), or electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (section D). Supported activities include building new production lines, implementing environmental protection solutions (including CO₂ emission reduction), acquiring energy-efficient technologies, and setting up renewable energy or hydrogen production for internal use. The amount of support ranges from €500,000 to €5 million, depending on the size and scope of the project. The support rate for eligible costs ranges from 15% to 70%. Applications can be submitted until October 1, 2025, at 5:00 PM.
Kristjan Kalda, head of energy and mobility at KIK, has emphasized: “The adoption of innovative technologies gives Estonian companies a good opportunity to remain competitive and bring energy-saving solutions into the industrial sector, the implementation of which would be too expensive without state support.”
This support is funded through the European Union Emissions Trading System and is intended to help companies move toward more environmentally sustainable production. Applications must be submitted via the e-support environment. More detailed conditions and information are available on KIK’s website.
